Robert Kramar

Robert Kramar, owner and lead model maker of Master Designs, started his model building at the tender age of 6 years old.  It all started with a model train set for Christmas, and a couple of accessories that required assembly.  Robert was always fascinated with model trains, but no one would have guessed that a child-hood hobby would turn into a life-long career.  While most kids are happy with the level of detail that a plastic model kit from a hobby store provides, Robert was always seeking additional detail.  Scratchbuilding parts to add to model kits turned into scratchbuilding the entire model.  At 14 years old, Robert joined the NMRA (National Model Railroad Association) and started entering his models into state and regional NMRA model competions.  After winning top honors and several Best-Of-Show awards, he traveled to Denver, Colorado in the summer of 1991 to compete in his first National NMRA contest.  Robert was one of the youngest modelers to win at the National level, and received a couple of special awards for doing so.  Robert started Master Designs his senior year of high school when he was contacted by other model railroaders to build custom models for their collection.  With Robert studying architecture through the VICA (Vocational Industrial Clubs of America) club at high school, and then onto Arizona State University in the School of Architecture, it was only natural to add architectural models to his list of services.  With Master Designs celebrating it's 15th Year Anniversary in 2008, and Robert having almost 30 years of model making experience, you can be assured to get the highest level of detail, accuracy, and design for your project needs.
